Building a Gonk Droid for Halloween: Part 2
So, the next step once I had the feet and legs sorted out was to put in the instrument panel. In this case, the instrument panel is a food service tray.
So, cut out the shell, glue in the tray, and Bob's your uncle.
Next, we need to finish the legs, by fitting the dryer hose "pants". With the L brackets glued on, it's simply a matter of fitting them over the legs, and screwing them down. Bottom first.
Once that's done, fit the legs into the caps bolted on the bottom of the body, and screw down the L brackets at that end.
Now that the legs are done, we can attach the top tub, and button up the droid body.
Half a dozen screws around the rim are sufficient unto the cause. So, lets see how it all looks.
Finally, a little masking to keep the instrument panel clean while we shoot some more color on the body of the droid.
Once I was finished with that, I taped/glued some carboard around the rim at the join between the two bins, and painted that, to cover up the gap.
Next, we're going to work on some exterior fittings. I wound up using a pair of old portable phones, disassembled, to provide exterior fitments.
Looks like just a random assortment of stuff, eh?
I'll post some final pics when we're finished setting the whole thing up.
